What is ecoop.net?

ecoop.net is a personal site that has published programming notes and translated
developer documentation since 2002. It has three main sections:

  • Tech Memo (てくめも): a blog of programming and
    server administration notes, written in Japanese.
  • Coop!: a programming reference archive. Its
    centerpiece is a complete translation of the GNU Make 4.4 manual, available in
    Japanese, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Chinese.
  • OSS documentation translations: unofficial Japanese translations of the official
    ImageMagick,
    ImageMagick Usage,
    FFmpeg and
    DCMTK documentation.

Emoji Input (絵文字入力)
Released in 2010. A “Mushroom” input-extension app for Japanese IMEs, with about
280,000 total downloads. No longer available on Google Play.

ChatPad
Released in 2012 as contract work: the Android client for
ChatPad, an existing one-on-one chat web service.

“The World’s Largest Christmas Tree Is This Way!”
Released in 2012. A joint project with the Osakan Space coworking community,
covered by the Sankei Kansai newspaper. The app and the article are no longer online.

Osakan Space Compass (オオサカンスペースこっちやで！)
Released in 2012. Another Osakan Space joint project. No longer available on Google Play.

An app that detects walking with CoreMotion.

Development and maintenance of Google Sites gadgets for operating Google Apps,
running on Google App Engine.

Teaching

Instructor for the Tech Institute app developer training course, organized by
Samsung Electronics Japan, the Waseda University Extension Center and the
Kadokawa ASCII Research Institute.
